Kiwanis clubs look for individuals 18 and over who are interested in making their word a better place, one child and one community at a time. Members typically contribute four to six hours a month helping with club activities and projects.

Prospective members attend a minimum of two meetings to learn about the club and allow the club to get to know them. Each prospective member must have a sponsor and make a formal application to join. After application, the Membership Chairman will meet with you to help you learn more about Kiwanis and how the club functions. The Chairman submits your application to the Board of Directors for approval. After paying an induction fee, which covers the costs to the club associated with processing a new membership, each member pays yearly dues, which are set by the club.

Lt. Governor Div 23 2013-14 Joel Davidson (right) welcome new charter members Beverly Kennedy, Jerry Sehl and Birute Ann Clottey during the induction ceremony.

New members participate in an orientation program that helps them determine how to become involved in ways that best match their personal interests and skills. Members quickly learn that the benefits of membership increase with their level of participation in the club.

All members honor the Objects of Kiwanis:

To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life.

To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

To promote the adoption and application of higher social, business, and professional standards.

To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship.

To provide, through this club, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build a better community.

To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.
